Ashtanga yoga is once again popular all over the world. Knowledge about the holy scriptures is now available to all people. The scriptures show us how with regular practice it is possible to attain a healthy body and mind, and to realize the Self, our innermost soul, which, in its nature, is eternal peace, limitless freedom and happiness.

It is important for the student to practice yoga postures (asanas) in the right order and to follow the exact vinyasa method. In this way the body, the senses, the soul and the intellect are developed in harmony.

Petri Raisanen has written this lovely book that honours the tradition of ashtanga yoga. I have looked through the vinyasa techniques in all asanas and parts of the philosophical questions regarding the practice with him.

I give my blessing to Petri and to the book. I hope that the book will reach many readers, so the knowledge and the beauty of yoga keep spreading.
